What does the bond pay for?

In education, levies are for learning and bonds are for building.

The state does not provide enough money to school districts for school construction. Because of this, school districts have to run bonds in their community. Bonds require a super majority of 60 percent to pass.

Bonds are typically for a longer period of time than levies. Bonds are usually 10, 20 or 30 years. Did you know that last time Meridian ran a bond, they were so financially responsible that they were actually able to give back millions of dollars to their community bringing our tax rate down?
